Open Scandinavian sleddog race is a traditional competition between Nordic countries. It is organized by the sleddog sport federations of Finland, Norway and Sweden every second year. The aim of the Scandinavian Open Championship (SOC) is to promote the co-operation between Nordic countries in the field of sleddog sport. In 2009 SOC will be arranged in Finland, 2011 in Norway and Sweden has its turn in 2013. For the winner of each championship class is granted the title “Nordic Champion”. Nordic champion is the competitor who has the fastest time in respective class despite of competitors’ national team, association or nationality.

SOC will be arranged as nordic and nome style sleddog races. To guarantee the high quality of the SOC it is sanctioned as Europa-cup race. In addition, we want to offer an international race challenge for registered working dogs and for traditional sleddog breeds like Siberian huskies, Alaskan malamutes, Samoyed or Greenland dogs, which have their own Championship classes in SOC.
